What is janumet XR?

JANUMET XR tablets contain two oral antidiabetic drugs used in the management of type 2 diabetes: sitagliptin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release. Janumet XR Tablet may be prescribed alone or along with other diabetes medications. JANUMET XR consists of an extended-release metformin core tablet coated with an immediate-release layer of sitagliptin.

How to use Janumet XR

Take this medicine by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually with food once a day, preferably in the evening. Janumet is an extended-release tablet that does not crush or chew.   • JANUMET XR 50mg / 500mg -- 64.25 mg sitagliptin phosphate monohydrate (equivalent to 50 mg sitagliptin as a free base) and 500 mg metformin hydrochloride extended-release (50 mg / 500 mg)
  • JANUMET XR 50mg/1000mg)--1000 mg metformin hydrochloride is available in the form of extended-release tablets(50 mg / 1000 mg).
  • Additionally, JANUMET XR is available for oral administration as tablets containing
    JANUMET XR 100mg/1000mg -- 128.5 mg sitagliptin phosphate monohydrate (equivalent to 100 mg sitagliptin as free base) and 1000 mg metformin hydrochloride extended-release (100 mg/1000 mg).
